WP 4
Information and Publicity Activities
OBJECTIVES:
To disseminate information about the progress of the project and the relevant activities, using appropriate communication tools. To provide information on the results of the project, using the definition of target groups and information relays. These activities are undertaken in coordination with the Project Manager and the people in charge of the WPs.
DESCRIPTION OF MAIN ACTIVITIES: :
Various activities planned, linked to the development of the other modules. For example: exchange of experiences, meetings, seminars, study trips. A multilingual project website has been created (www.mobilalp.com). The site is regularly updated, and has three main aims:
-
to aid the circulation of information between the partners and the public;
-
to create a home page which will link to the mobility service centres developed - or indicated - by the individual partners and should become a point of reference for anyone seeking information on mobility services in the Alpine Space area.
-
to aid the exchange of project documents between the partners, through a restricted access section.
An email newsletter will also be created, and sent to a mailing list of all the individuals and organizations concerned in the Alpine Space area, whose addresses have been provided by the project partners.
Information supports will be translated into the languages of the project partners (French, German and Italian), and English.
TASKS OF EACH INDIVIDUAL PP IN THIS WP:
Each PP will produce a factsheet about each action carried out under the project, clearly indicating the objectives, the means, the innovative aspects, the transnational dimension and added value of the action. The person in charge of WP 4, in coordination with the Lead Partner, will use this material to produce information about the project and will circulate it (via internet, newsletters, etc.) to the various targets identified using the mailing lists.
EXPECTED OUTPUTS AND RESULTS OF THE WP :
The web site, in all the project partners’ languages, plus English, contains a presentation of the project, the objectives and the various activities carried out. There are links not only to the home pages of the partners, but also to various sites of interest at regional, national and European level. Particularly important is the section dealing with the Mobility Services Centre network, which will provide direct access to search tools regarding mobility in the Alpine Space area.
A regular e-mail Newsletter will provide information on project progress.
All the partners will have the opportunity to take part in meetings, fairs or other encounters at local, regional or higher levels, to exchange information on Mobilalp activities by creating suitable informative material such as presentations, press releases, etc.
WP5
Information and services for transport users, notably through mobility centres.
OBJECTIVES:
The aim of this WP is to analyse public transport services available so as to make them more attractive to users and thus increase the use of collective forms of transports and “soft” mobility, particularly by centralizing and circulating information and proposing attractive, advantageous commercial offers.
DESCRIPTION OF MAIN ACTIVITIES:
Setting up, extension and networking of Mobility Centres able to provide multimodal information (schedules, timetables, frequency of services, duration, modes of transport available) for planning a journey using public transport; reservation or purchase of transport tickets; introduction of convenient and advantageous travel offers.
Various transnational activities, such as meetings, seminars and study trips, have been organized, so as to exchange experiences and evaluate the ways in which the various Mobility Service Centres have been set up.
TASKS OF EACH INDIVIDUAL PP IN THIS WP:
The Lead Partner, Conseil Général de l’Haute Savioe, has created information systems for the mobility service centres in the Aravis and Haut Chablais areas. In Pongau (Salzburg) a network for the mobility service centres has been planned. Xeismobil is developing a mobility service centre, based on a GIS web platform, which will provide information on timetables and ticketing systems. The Austrian partner Stiria has also undertaken to renew the public transport system in the region of Steiemark. Dolomiti Bus has planned the setting up of the web portal www.muoversiinformati.it, the online Mobility Service Information Centre for the province of Belluno, integrating a series of GIS web information platforms and creating a multimodal journey planner system. The Val d’Aosta region has planned a web networking system for the Mobility Service Centres; in order to harmonise procedures and optimize communication, software systems will be used and a ticket office and information terminal will be set up. One of the actions planned by the City of Aosta is the installation of a system to provide information for the visually impaired on the city’s buses. The Friuli-Venezia Giulia region aims to create a transport services and Mobility Service Centre database.
EXPECTED OUTPUTS AND RESULTS OF THE WP:
Structured information systems for the development of actual or virtual Mobility Service Centres able to provide immediate information on public transport, integrating the various means of transport available in the regions concerned. This will be achieved by creating search engines or tools which can provide the user with direct information via internet on timetables, frequency of services, duration, modes, and allow travellers to reserve or purchase transport tickets. Extremely complex systems will also be created, which will allow users to plan a whole journey from start to finish within a given region.
The information tools described above will provide the opportunity to develop innovative commercial offers for public transport users.
Transnational exchanges on experieces and implementation methods are particularly important also in this case.
WP 6
Intelligent and innovative transport offers in a transnational perspective
OBJECTIVES:
Definition of intelligent, innovative, multimodal, economically and environmentally sound offers to promote sustainable mobility. Development of new transport systems, evaluation of existing systems in order to optimise their use. It is extremely important to be able to exchange know-how and methods developed via the various experiences at regional level.
DESCRIPTION OF MAIN ACTIVITIES:
Mobility solutions : urban / interurban links, links within / between resorts, shuttles, soft mobility, luggage transport, transport supply and demand , car pooling, etc.
Different kinds of actions are planned, such as : supply and demand assessment, study of potential offers, feasibility studies and development of pilot actions.
Organization of transnational activities such as exchanges of experiences or implementation methods, to be developed in common with other modules.
TASKS OF EACH INDIVIDUAL PP IN THIS WP:
The Conseil Général de l’Haute Savoie has proposed the development of public transport links between the tourist resorts of the Haute Savioe region and the railway stations and airports of the nearby cities, to create an alternative to car travel (e.g. Thonon - Cluses or Annecy - Aravis links) .
The Austrian region of Pongau will develop innovative proposals in the field of transport: in Werfenweng a specific shuttle service is planned, as well as a new marketing campaign for public transport. Xeismobil has planned an innovative public transport network card to be used in the Steiemark region. Dolomiti Bus will carry out a study on supply and demand patterns in the mobility sector, paying particular attention to the requirements of the tourist industry; the company will also develop new solutions for providing information on services and timetables, as well as undertaking a pilot action involving the hire of an electric vehicle in order to promote soft, ecologically-friendly mobility. The Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region will create info-points for sustainable mobility. The city of Aosta will carry out an analysis of transport supply and demand on the hills of Aosta, and develop a bicycle hire service for tourists and local users.
The Val d’Aosta Region plans to experiment with additional transport services in the time bands not already covered by transport services, and to carry out a feasability study on a link between Aosta rail station and Aosta-Pila cable car.
EXPECTED OUTPUTS AND RESULTS OF THE WP:
Implementation of pilot actions for innovative and sustainable transport services ; offer, needs and potential demand assessment may lead to feasibility studies or pilot actions.
Transnational activities: exchange of experiences, comparison of planning methods used to achieve results.
WP 7
Charter and propositions for sustainable regional mobility in the Alps
OBJECTIVES:
To outline lessons learned from the actions carried out, draw conclusions, evaluate results achieved and transmit these results through the Alpine Space area / Europe
